Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at enhancedbeautybydesign@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Eyelash extensions are individual Synthetic Mink eyelashes attached one-by-one to each of your individual natural lashes – not to the skin. This service is beauty enhancing and eliminates the need to wear mascara. It is a meticulous service which requires the skill and precision of your certified lash technician. Once the eyelash extensions are applied, they are natural looking. Size availability ranges from short to long which will be decided and agreed upon with your certified eyelash technician.

Eyelash extensions are not for everyone. This is a very high maintenance beauty treatment. It requires very gentle care in order for the lashes to last long and stay in good condition.

Classic lashes- A method where 1 lash extension is glued to 1 natural lash. This method is also known as 1 to 1 or 1:1. Classic lashes are perfect for clients who already have a lot of lashes, but want to add more length. Classic lashes look more natural.

Volume lashes- When multiple lashes are form in to a fan and applied to one single natural eyelash individually isolating one natural eyelash at a time. Using very thin lashes. If two eyelash extensions are applied to one natural lash it’s described as 2D, if three eyelash extensions are applied to one natural eyelash then it’s described as 3D etc.

This method is also known as Russian volume. The lash extensions used in this method are significantly thinner (Usually a 0.07 diameter lash extension is used) than the lash extensions used for the classic lash method.
Volume lashes are lighter, fluffier and give the client a fuller look. Volume lashes are perfect for clients who don't have a lot of lashes, have sparse lashes, bald spots or just want a more dramatic look without having to use a thicker/heavier lash.

No. When extensions are applied correctly they will not harm your natural lashes; each lash extension is adhered to one single natural lash, the extension will grow out naturally as your own lash matures. The eyelash adhesive is formulated to create a solid bond, specifically for human lashes. The adhesive dries very soft on the lashes, allowing the lashes to stay flexible and bouncy just like your own lashes.

Please do not attempt to remove your lashes yourself as you risk damaging your natural lashes. Please seek assistance from your eyelash technician. If you choose to have them removed. We will not be held liable for any damage that you may cause by trying to remove your eyelash extensions on your own.

Remove all eye makeup and clean your lashes with mild, oil free cleanser. Do not use oil based makeup removers to clean your lashes prior to the application. Do not put on any mascara. We don’t want to spend time cleaning your lashes. We’d rather spend time working on perfecting your lashes. If you are a contact lens wearer, please remove contact lenses and wear glasses to your appointment, or bring a lens case and remove them when you arrive at your appointment. Plan to set aside 1 to 2.5 hours for your appointment. Some of our clients fall asleep during the procedure.

Here are some of the best practices for keeping your lash extensions healthy and well-kept! Following these instruction can help lengthen the life cycle of your lashes.

  • For the first 24 hours do not wash or wet lashes and avoid steam. This means: no swimming, spas, saunas, hot tubs, hot yoga, or cooking in a steamy kitchen. Steam will affect the adhesive from bonding properly for 24 hours.
  • Do not use waxy, greasy, or oil based eyeliner or eye shadow. This compromises the adhesive and will result in lash extension loss.
  • Do not rub, perm, or tint your lashes before or after lash extension application
  • Do not rub your eyes or lashes when washing your face – gently cleanse around the eyes with a wash cloth, or Q-tip
  • Do not pull on your lash extensions – as you’re likely to pull out your natural lash with it
  • Do not use mascara on your lashes
  • Do not remove the extensions on your own
  • Do not cut your extensions, you risk cutting your own lashes and altering the natural appearance of the lash extensions
  • Always brush your lashes in the morning and at night to keep your lashes neat.
  • As your natural lashes grow and fall out due to the natural growth cycle, you will need refills. Fills are recommended every 2-3 weeks. (Secure your refill appointments by pre-booking)

In some cases, eyelash extensions can last up to 4 weeks. However, it is common to get a touch up after 2 - 3 weeks. Like all hair, there are 3 phases to the eyelash growth cycle. There are lashes in each phase at all times, therefore, some will be lost within a couple of weeks, and others can last much longer as part of the natural cycle.

We require 48 hours notice for cancellations. See our policies for more details.
